Altered Course Book One

Just a quick update here in case you missed my newsletter announcement or didn’t get an email notification from Amazon. Book One of my new Altered Course Series has officially launched and is available in the Kindle and Paperback editions.

The Passage is the first book in my new Altered Course series—a story that blends maritime mystery, time travel, and post-apocalyptic survival. Like my earlier works in The Pulse series, Feral Nation and In Times to Come, it explores how ordinary people adapt when the familiar world disappears.

This series comes from my love of sailing and building classic wooden boats, combined with my fascination for time displacement and its consequences. I've always been drawn to stories where exploration meets the unknown, and the ocean is the perfect setting for that kind of discovery.

The time travel genre has long been one of my favorites, especially when it intersects with exploration and survival. With Altered Course, I wanted to bring that same sense of discovery and danger to the open sea.

Altered Course begins with the mystery of an abandoned schooner and a crew carried far beyond their own time. Where they've gone—and how they'll survive—will unfold in the books to come.

A new series is about to launch…

New ideas are always in development as I continue to work on ongoing existing projects, and since I rarely think of stories in terms of standalone books these days, that means new series ideas.

Like all of them, this idea has been percolating for quite some time now—years, in fact.

Altered Course comes from a convergence of things I’ve been fascinated with for most of my life: the ocean, sailing, wooden boats, and of course, time itself—how it slips away from us, how it shapes us, and what might happen if we could somehow step outside of it.

This series is different in tone and setting from some of my other work, but it still explores the same themes I keep coming back to—survival, resilience, and the question of what we do when the world stops making sense. At its core, it’s an adventure story with elements of mystery and the unknown, written for readers who enjoy being dropped into unfamiliar waters and left to navigate alongside the characters.

I’ve been wanting to write something like this for a long time, and the pieces finally came together in a way that made sense. The first book, The Passage, is available now for preorder. Two more in the series—Adrift in Time and Vanishing Point—will follow as the story unfolds.
