Bio

I am a writer with a passion for exploring and outdoor adventures on land and sea. I began writing magazine articles about my solo long-distance kayaking voyages in 1990. I have since written seven books and continue to write for magazines and my blogs on boatbuilding, sailing and outdoor survival.

My current publisher, Ulysses Press, of Berkeley, California, has released two of my most recent titles in 2011: Getting Out Alive: 13 Deadly Scenarios and How Others Survived, in March, and Bug Out Vehicles and Shelters: Build and Outfit Your Life-Saving Escape, in October. I am presently working on a related novel, also to be published by Ulysses Press in 2012.
